Hello! My name is Laura Lee, and I am excited to be your child/ren's art teacher this year! Art is one of the few places where students can critically think and problem solve while making choices purely for the pleasure of creation! In our art class, I try to provide a variety of fun learning experiences that balance guided lessons. My goal is to teach children how to observe and interpret what they see in attractive and/or meaningful ways. In order for them to do so, I teach them "art basics" which can help them develop their personal expression, creativity and style. Our projects are based around the elements of art- line, shape, texture, color, value and space. These are like words, numbers or musical notes- they can be combined in different ways and built upon each year. Have no fear of perfection, you will never reach it. -Salvador Dali
Reminders: Students come to art on an A-B-C rotation. Encourage your child/ren to wear older and more comfortable clothes on his/her art day! Classroom expectations: Always try your best. Respect yourself, others, and all artwork. Take care of supplies. Inside voices please. Stay on task. Turn mistakes into masterpieces! Art is never finished only abandoned. -Leonardo DaVinci
